CRISPR Cas-9 has the ability to change the world as we know it today. It has the ability to eradicate diseases like HIV and cancer, bring back animals that have been extinct for millions of years, and increase the life expectancy of all humans to come.
It has also been recently discovered by scientists in China that you can edit a human embryo using this amazing new technology. Of course, this raises a ton of ethical questions about how to go about researching and developing this amazing new technology.
I first read about CRISPR in an article over the summer, and I was captivated by how amazing it is. When I saw this challenge, I immediately recognized it as the perfect opportunity to dig a little deeper into the subject, and to teach others about it as well at the same time.
